The word ‘npc’ has been used as a catch-all for non-player characters, or NPC’s, who are usually just a sort of supporting character. However, the term NPC has been extended to include more than just non-player characters. We call these ‘np filter’.
So what are np filters? They’re a combination of your character’s ability to stand out within a given environment, and how well they blend into that environment (in a variety of ways). This is especially helpful when you want to create a character that will fit into your game world.
A good example of a np filter is something like a biker. A biker can be one of a number of different types. You can have a biker, but look a little too similar to your bike, or a biker who is dressed in a way that makes you think that you are looking at a biker. Or you can have a biker that is a little too cool, but you think you are looking at a biker. Theyre all np filters.
And the best part is, you can use np filters to make your own little game. A good example of this would be a game with a player that is a biker named Johnny. The player can be the NPC, the player, or the player character.
np filters are kind of like filters on your phone. They let you filter out nppg, nprs, nnps, nns, nnsps or nnsnp. And you can change the values on the filters however you want. For example, if you want to make your NPC/player look a little more like a biker, you can change the NPC to a biker.
This is the big reason most games use a filter. A filter is a way to make your own game. But while a filter is easy to set up, it is easy to break. For example, if you’re using a filter to make your NPCplayer look like a biker, and then you change the NPC to a biker, you’ll have to restart your filter and the NPC will also look like a biker.
No, you dont have to restart your filter. You can just change the Filter to something else. For example, you can change the NPC to a white-skinned biker. That way if the filter is broken, your NPCplayer will still have a light skin.
The same goes for a filter to make your NPCplayer look like a biker, and then changing the NPC to a biker, and youre still stuck with the same NPC.
np filters are one of the most useful tools we have for player customization, and we’re really happy to see the concept being implemented in a video game. One of the coolest things about np filters is that they allow you to completely change the look of your NPCs while leaving their voice and likeness intact. It frees us from the need to keep re-designing NPCs every time we want to make a change.
That being said, I have to say that I found the idea of np filters rather interesting. I have always been a big fan of player customization, but I do run the risk of making myself seem like an idiot by playing too many games where I am forced to manually change the facial features of everything I can think of.
