sql is an awesome little database that is built into the Windows operating system so you can have a table with information about the rows you’re going to print out. That’s not a bad thing.
The problem is the data inside the table is just numbers. That means each time you run the query, it will check your input to see if it is a number. If it is, then the loop will just run that entire line over again. This is a waste of time.
What I have found is that SQL isn’t meant for large data sets. If you want to print a bunch of numbers, use a text editor like Notepad or TextMate. If you need to create a table or query from a text file, you can use SQLite.
I’ve never found SQL to be as fast as I’ve been led to believe, and I can’t say that about Notepad and Textmate. The only thing SQL can do that Notepad and TextMate can’t is run over a long string. SQL can’t go over your entire text file, but it can go over your entire table.

Sure, its possible to get a really good copy of the entire SQL database from the SQL site. But its also possible to get a really good copy of a portion of it from the SQL site, and it is likely very rare that someone will need that much of the whole thing.
